Residential Retreats

This is the beginning of anything you want.

We play only a small part as facilitators to bring to you what this beautiful country has to offer in terms of ancient spirituality. It’s not about taking a vacation but traveling intentionally into the Unknown.
We have been blessed to meet some people who have been instrumental in touching our lives deeply. For us this is a great way to give back what we have received. There is something fundamentally life-altering when you travel to a place with the intention of turning a whole chapter in your life.
House of Kapaali’s residential retreats are regular but spontaneous. However there is always enough time to allow you to make your travel plans and other bookings

Testimonials

The unique architecture and elegant atmosphere of House of Kapaali was a delightful surprise on my most recent trip to India. This hidden gem is absolutely the only place I would ever stay while visiting the area. I was treated like an Indian princess, in most, cases I did not need to ask for a thing; it just appeared. I felt like family during my stay at this marvelous hidden treasure.

We appreciated the warmness, the great generosity of the family and also their delicious food. We spent 3 wonderful weeks there. It was so hard to leave....We think to return there for a new stay ...

We stayed as a group for our friends wedding and oh boy what a ball we had! The whole place is very quirky and tastefully done. From the assorted paintings on the walls to the landscaping, it all has very personal touch. The rooms are large and very comfortable. The staff is very very courteous and resourceful . They handled all our requests very well. The best part was barbecuing in the winter sun on the large terrace with your friends and just chilling to some good music. We felt like we had the whole place to ourselves without having to worry about the logistics.Highly recommended if you want a place to put up your friends or family for weddings or for any group event.

Upcoming Retreat/Workshop

Pench, 15th - 19th March 2018

Yoga & Safari Retreat

Pench, 15th - 19th March 2018
Yoga retreat in the Jungles of Pench, the very forest that inspired Kipling’s famous Jungle Book !

See full Itinerary

DAY 1- 15th March

Fly to Nagpur; Drive to Pench; Opening Circle

Nagpur is well connected by direct flights to all major cities. On arrival in Nagpur we leave straight for Pench. Once out of the city the drive is beautiful with verdant jungle scape on either side. After a short two-hour drive we check into our luxurious, eco-freindly resort which is going to be our home for the next 4 days. The cottages are nestled deep in the forest; the silence and the lushness are almost heady! Designed in the vernacular style using locally available materials, each cottage comes attached with a private deck overlooking the jungle.

After lunch and a brief rest we will meet in the Yogashala for an opening circle for introductions, to set intentions and to initiate the process of inner transformation over the course of the next few days.

Day 2-4 ; 16th-18th March

For the next 3 days we soak ourselves in daily yoga classes, safari drives to the Pench tiger reserve, nature walks and other group activities as we deeply honour, cherish and celebrate who we are!

Pench National Park

For fans of Rudyard Kipling’s ‘Jungle Book,’ Pench is a must visit as it was in this forest that the stories of Bagheera and Mowgli were forever immortalised!

Pench National Park straddles across the states of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Pench is home to a variety of wildlife and more famously for the Royal Bengal Tiger. Feb-April being the best time for sightings we definitely hope to get lucky! Apart from the Tiger other predators in the park are Leopard, Wolf, Jackal, Hyena, Jungle cat, Dhole (Indian wild dog). One can also catch herds of Sambar, Cheetal, Gaur and Wild Boar. The park is also home to over 300 species of birds.

Apart from the wildlife driving through these enchanted forests is an absolute visual delight! One feels so lucky to be able to observe nature at is best at such close proximity!

Yoga with Mansi

A Yoga Alliance certified instructor, Mansi has developed a unique and dynamic framework within the traditional context of Yogic study.

During the retreat she will guide us through rejuvenating yoga and meditation sessions. Ranging from restorative hatha practise to more dynamic acro yoga & partner stretches, every day’s session will be unique and fun while taking you deeper into your yoga journey.

Pottery Village

Just a short drive through interesting villages is a village called Pachdhar where the inhabitants have been practicing centuries old tradition of pottery. Once there, connect with Mama Earth, dirty your hands at the potter’s wheel and let the earth heal your feelings and emotions with its soothing warmth.

We will end the excursion with a picnic lunch in the courtyard of a local home.

Mahua flower distillation

Luckily for us this is also the season when the Mahua tree is in bloom! The mahua flowers, rich in sugar and a number of other minerals, are collected by the locals and distilled to make an alcoholic beverage.

The liquor produced from the flowers is largely colourless; the taste is reminiscent of sake with a distinctive smell of mahua flowers. We will witness the collection and distillation process and the adventurous can even try some of the fermented drink!

Nature walks

Nature walks within and just outside the property with the in-house naturalist are a revelation. Number of birds including some owls are residents at the property and never fail to make an appearance. If we’re lucky we may even spot the flying squirrel! We end the day with some down time around the campfire watching wildlife films and swapping stories!

DAY 5- 19th March

Morning Yoga & Closing circle; Drive to Nagpur to fly home

After our last morning yoga session we gather for a special closing circle where we express and share, laugh and cry, reflect and recollect and talk about our individual experiences and what it has meant to each one of us.

After breakfast we make the two-hour drive to the Nagpur airport to take catch our flights back home.
